Flexible optical and storage solutions
An integrated, easy-loading modular bay allows for fast swapping of optional IBM Ultrabay devices. Ultrabay optical and storage device options provide additional expansion capability so you can tailor your ThinkPad notebook to meet your computing needs. The new Ultrabay Slim, available on ThinkPad T41p models, supports thinner, lighter 9.5mm (.37") optional Ultrabay Slim devices for increased portability.
Ease of use
The ThinkPad UltraNav multipointing system, an example of IBM ThinkVantage Design, combines the latest full-function TrackPoint pointing device with an IBM-customized touch pad. Designed using detailed research and analysis, this innovative tool lets you work the way you want.
Work in low-light conditions
ThinkPad notebooks are the only notebook family with the ThinkLight keyboard light. Located on the top edge of the display, this tiny LED illuminates your keyboard to let you work in low-light conditions.
FEATURES
Wireless 11a, 11b and 11g wireless is based on IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g, respectively. An adapter with 11a/b, or 11a/b/g can communicate on any of these respective formats; the actual connection will be based on the access point to which it connects.
Designed to be capable of receiving data at up to 56Kbps with compatible phone line and server equipment, and transmitting data at up to 31.2Kbps. Public networks currently limit download speeds to about 53Kbps. Actual speeds vary and are often less than the maximum possible. V.92 capability requires download of V.92 microcode.
Leadership design: Select IBM ThinkPad T Series notebooks are about 1" slim with a travel weight starting at 4.5 lb. and feature the Intel Pentium M processor and a 14.1" TFT display. Select models also offer long battery life -- up to 9.7 hours with the system battery plus the optional ThinkPad Ultrabay Slim Li Polymer Battery.
Easier to use and manage: Enhanced reliability features such as the new IBM Active Protection System and the IBM Integrated HDD Shock Absorber help protect your valuable data (select models).
Optimized for connectivity: Models are available with up to five built-in communications capabilities: Wi-Fi wireless, Bluetooth technology, Ethernet, 56K v.92 modem and Infrared port. Integrated IBM 11a/b/g Wi-Fi wireless on select models gives you the flexibility to connect in any Wi-Fi environment.
Award-winning service and support: The ThinkPad button provides easy access to key IBM ThinkVantage Technologies and IBM Service and Support.
